India, a land of hundreds of princely states since the 1300s, combined to form one country under the british empire. Unity in diversity being adopted as one of the Indian mottos, resulted in the agglomeration of various cultures and traditions from various parts of the country. Each of these regional values and cultures are reflected in various art forms including dance, music and theatre. Bollywood, the hindi film industry has showcased these art forms through cinema since the first hindi movie in 1931. Bollywood dancing has captured millions of hearts worldwide with foot tapping music and artistic choreography. Dancing and singing has always been an integral part of hindi cinema. Choreography and music has been inspired by regional folk dances, values and customs over the decades.
Padanyaas brings a taste of Bollywood moves, including old and new styles of dancing. It expresses the science of emotions linked to the lyrics and their formulation into dance steps.
