PHILOSOPHY OF GURU
In the context of Bharatnatyam, a Guru is a teacher who imparts not just the technical aspects of the dance form but also the philosophy and spiritual essence behind it. The Guru is seen as a guide, mentor, and role model who not only trains the student in dance but also helps them grow as a person.
The philosophy of Gurus in Bharatnatyam is deeply rooted in the tradition of Guru-Shishya Parampara (teacher-disciple tradition), which dates back to ancient India. The Guru is seen as the custodian of knowledge and the Shishya (disciple) as the seeker of knowledge. The relationship between the Guru and Shishya is considered sacred and is based on mutual respect, trust, and dedication.
FROM THE GURU
I am truly blessed to have tutelage from eminent gurus in my dance journey. My initial learning was under Guru (late) Smt. Sucheta Joshi of Nupur Jhankar Dance Academy, Pune where I completed my Arangetram. I am humbled to be disciple of gurus, namely, Dr. Ranjani Ganeshan, Smt. Gayathri Keshavan, and Smt. Neela Jayaraman, after I moved to Bangalore.
The musical ensamble is an integral part of this journey. I am extremely fortunate to have such expert artists to as guides and advisors providing uncondiional support in all the programs of Padanyaas.

A true testimonial that passion for classical form has no age / profession / location-bar and the passion transcends all such so-called barrier. I want to thank all these talented students who are part of my journey.
