Students’ Profile
I was privileged to be introduced to Bharatnatyam as a child as it positively impacted my life in many ways! Performing on stage improved my confidence immensely. It’s more than just a graceful art form, requiring strength, precision and discipline. These qualities have helped me grow as a person. Attending classes and performing during various events form some of the fondest memories from my adolescence. I never realised what a great stress buster it was back then. Although dance had to take a backseat in these past few years because of how demanding studies were, I definitely intend on pursuing it in the future.
According to me, learning any art form for which one is having passion is the force which takes you far meaningfully in the journey of life and keeps one mentally strong all through life, provided one is ready to follow one’s passion and learn continuously. I am of firm belief that in the coming times when humans are becoming more isolated and disconnected in real sense with other humans, having a passion for an art form will keep you energized and mentally fit.

Pursuing Bharatnatyam throughout my adolescent years imbimbed in me a lot of self-confidence and discipline. When I joined college, I found that dance had shaped my persona such that I was not afraid to explore different things and be at the forefront. It improved my social skills, and when I dance today, I realise how beneficial it is for my mental health in this fast-paced world.
Pursuing Bharatnatyam has made me appreciate Indian culture and music along with realizing the discipline and dedication required to become an artist. Bharatnatyam is an inevitable part of me that I will take wherever I go.
During all these busy years of professional engagements, which saw her achieve key milestones academically, her passion for Bharatnatyam never faded.
